2. Responsible wildlife tourism

Kenya’s wildlife exists in a fragile ecosystem under sustained pressure from habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and climate change. We ask all visitors to observe the following principles:

• Always follow your guide’s instructions around wildlife — never approach animals on foot without explicit guide permission
• Maintain the recommended distances from wildlife at all times
• Never feed wildlife under any circumstances
• Do not pressure guides to approach wildlife too closely for photography purposes
• Choose operators who operate within the vehicle limits set by conservancies and national parks

3. Responsible community engagement

Kenya’s Maasai and other indigenous communities live alongside the wildlife that attracts visitors. Responsible engagement with these communities means:

• Asking permission before photographing people
• Paying fair prices for community experiences and craft purchases
• Choosing operators who pay genuine community lease fees and employ local staff
• Being respectful of dress codes, customs, and sacred sites
• Not visiting community villages that operate as pure tourist productions without genuine community benefit

4. Conservation-conscious choices

We encourage visitors to make choices that actively benefit Kenya’s conservation economy:

• Choose private conservancies over national parks where possible — conservancy fees go directly to Maasai landowners and fund community conservation
• Choose operators with verified conservation credentials and community benefit programmes
• Offset your flight carbon through a credible programme before travelling
• Avoid single-use plastics — many Kenya camps are plastic-free and request guests do the same
• Respect the Leave No Trace principles in all natural areas

5. Acceptable use of this website

Users of novaexpedition.tours agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You agree not to:

• Submit false or misleading information through any form on this website
• Use this website to harass, abuse, or harm any person or organisation

6. Our conservation commitment

Nova Expedition commits to directing a portion of any commercial revenue earned through operator referrals toward verified Kenya conservation initiatives. As our business grows, we will publish an annual report on this commitment and the organisations supported.
