Our Story

Why Nova Expedition

Nova Expedition was founded on a simple frustration: the information available to people planning a Kenya safari is either overwhelming, outdated, or written by people who’ve never actually been. The result is that too many travellers arrive in Kenya either over-prepared with the wrong things or under-prepared for the things that actually matter.

We exist to change that. We publish the Kenya travel guides we wish had existed when we were planning our own first safaris — long-form, deeply researched, honestly written, and updated regularly. One country. Every destination. Every season. Every experience type.

Our content strategy is built around one question: what would a knowledgeable friend who has spent years in Kenya actually tell you? Not what’s in the brochure. Not what the lodge’s marketing says. What would they actually say, if you asked them honestly?

That’s what we write. And that’s what we tell you, for free, when you reach out via our planning form or WhatsApp.

We believe the right business model for a Kenya travel brand is one that aligns our incentives perfectly with our readers’ interests. When we recommend something, it should be because we genuinely believe in it — not because we’re paid to say it.

Newsletter & Email List
Our email list is our primary asset. We build it by publishing content people genuinely value and offering a free Kenya planning guide. This audience is what enables everything else.
Referral Commissions
When we connect readers with trusted Kenya operators and a booking results, we may earn a referral commission. We always disclose this, and we only recommend operators we have personally vetted.
Phase 3 — Full Operator
Our long-term goal is to operate as a fully licensed Kenya luxury travel company under the Nova Expedition brand. We are building that platform now — this site is Phase 1 of that journey.
What we will never do
